Things to do for Families in October and November

Mersey Ferry

The Pier Head, Liverpool

While staying in Liverpool during the winter months with your family, there is no better way to experience Liverpool’s great maritime heritage than by taking a nice ferry across the Mersey.

The River Explorer Cruise will take you to see all the main attractions of the Mersey including a nice stop off at Seacombe and the Pier Head. This fun and educational cruise comes with full running commentary, informing you of the great history of the city and how shipping made Liverpool one of the most important ports in the world.

Experiencing the ferry is like the great Gerry Marsden song says, the ferry is bound to make you fall in love with Liverpool not just in October and November, but all year round!

The Christmas Market

Last year, Liverpool proudly held the biggest ever market run in any city in the UK. And again, Liverpool will host this month long market in 2011 from November 25 to December 16 to help you find those unusual gifts you are unlikely to find anywhere else.

The market has over 90 Chalets in which one can shop for those finely crafted festive presents unique to the local area. There is even an ice rink, a fully licensed bar and a carousel for you an the kids to enjoy a fun day out whilst experiencing a truly unique shopping experience.
