Williamson Tunnels, Smithdown Lane
Take a peek into the underground world created by Liverpool resident and “Mole of Edge Hill” Joseph Williamson, in the early 19th. The Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre provides an insight into the fascinating underground network, including a guided tour through a section of the network of tunnels and view exhibitions which depict the life and times of one of Liverpool’s most eccentric characters.
Knowsley Flower Show

Court Hey Park, Huyton
It’s the North West’s biggest free flower show, and there’s more on offer for visitors that just prize-winning blooms and veg. The Knowsley Flower Show at the National Wildflower Centre has a stack of events and activities throughout the day for all the family – as well as more than 100 show classes.
So whether you tend your own allotment, nurture a window box or just love beautiful flowers, there’s something for everyone at Court Hey Park this August.
Displays from Hawkeye Falconry and the H&M Dog Display Team, as well as arts, dance, music and entertainment in the Youth Arts Friendship Field will liven up the day this year, plus a large craft marquee, circus skills, a gardeners’ question time, LOTS of plant sellers and growers offering advice and helpful tips. And there are prizes on offer, for everything from pot plants to vegetables, as well as lots of children’s classes, plus a photography competition.

Once again this years final bank holiday of the year in Liverpool would not be the same without the great Matthew Street festival. This is always a perfect way to spend a day out and enjoy a plethora of music in bars and stages set on the streets across the city centre.
This unrivalled UK city event is one of the main dates on the city calendar and attracts visitors from across the world to party along with in the great heritage of the Beatles and Liverpool’s own brand of great rock n’ roll.

As Southport is one of the north west favourite seaside resorts among tourists. It is no wonder the Southport flower show proves to be as popular as ever. Attracting some 80,000 visitors each year, it is no wonder the show continues to grow in reputation as it offers a large children’s area to play in and proudly shows off horticultural delights from the four corners of the earth.
Although the flower show is only a four day event and situated in Victoria Park. This scenic venue proves to be a popular place for families to enjoy family picnics all year around. Each year continues to surprise the shows visitors and continues to offer something for amateur and professional gardeners alike!
