Events for Tourists in October 2011
Liverpool Irish Food and Drink Festival
The ninth Irish festival in Liverpool offers a fair bit more than just the craic. This two week festival offers a whole lot more than just a pint of Guinness on October 15 to October 31.
A series of musical events at the Liverpool Philharmonic with famous Irish musical artists are a great advert for Irish culture. Liverpool contemporary urban centre has a packed schedule of events to illustrate Irish tradition its best.
And of course, no festival would be complete without the joys of food and drink celebrated at St Michael’s Irish centre on Boundary Lane in West Derby. Where you can enjoy a fun night of dancing, great music and a wonderful welcoming atmosphere – not to mention a great pint of Guinness.
So what about other venues and places to eat on this festival? Where better to try some great traditionally made Irish food than the Flannagan’s Apple pub on Matthew Street or the intimate, warm and cosy Pogue Mahone pub on Seel Street. Both of these pubs serve up delicious food and have some great deals. The Pogue Mahone offers a 3 course Sunday lunch for just £5.99. Enjoy the real Craic in an authentic Irish pub and have a fun night out on the town!
This festival is packed with events through the two week period and if you are still up for more entertainment, Liverpool has some of the best Irish pubs in the country.
